Drawing on experience in corporate communications and a focus on issues management, stakeholder engagement and strategic planning, Barbara is adept at developing and delivering cohesive, integrated campaigns.

Matching her communications expertise with considerable business acumen, Barbara can identify the right communications strategy to effectively meet business goals and deliver meaningful and measurable results.

Barbara is an experienced board member, currently Chair of Lort Smith. A speaker and judge for the Public Relations Institute of Australia and International Association of Business Communicators as well as the prestigious Telstra Business Women’s Awards judges panel.

She is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and multi award winning member of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Glenister Lamont

Glenister has worked with major global companies including UBS, Woodside, Ashton Mining and a top-200 healthcare company as an executive director, investor relations executive and an external advisor. He provided leadership to Ashton Mining from a hostile takeover and covered activities surrounding Australia’s largest ever export contract for Woodside. Glenister was ranked consistently by BRW and FPRG among the top five analysts across a range of sectors.

Glenister also has experience in governance and its impact on investor perceptions. His current board positions include being Chairman at Golden Rim Resources (GMR).

Sue Driscoll

Issues and Community SpecialistLFPRIA

Sue specialises in providing management and marketing advice and support to the Australian health care and hospital sector. She is an experienced health care planner and communicator who has worked within, and for, community, NFP and health agencies for more than 25 years.

Sue has taught strategic communication and community relations to students up to Masters’ levels and industry practitioners, including courses on writing and media training. She has also produced a broad range of printed and online publications, such as brochures, newsletters, annual reports and similar for Australian and CALD communities. Sue has also written successful grants and awards submissions for clients, for funding from a variety of sources; and has designed and implemented many communication strategies including management planning, issue management or as a component of a social marketing program.

Sue works with Pesel & Carr as an advisor to cover all health and community communication needs: training, strategy development, facilitation and policy production, producing publications and submission writing.

Tony Jaques

Crisis Management SpecialistLFPRIA, PhD (Issue and Crisis Management)

Tony Jaques is an acknowledged authority in the field of issues and crisis risk assessment and management, with more than 25 years’ experience as trainer and facilitator working in Australia, the USA and across Asia.

His past and present clients include major multinationals such Dow Chemical, Basell Lyondell and Saudi Aramco.

He works in areas such as strategic planning, risk communication, issue identification and management, and crisis management, and has been involved in the production and implementation of a number of issue and crisis training manuals and other corporate procedures.

He has developed and led major issue advocacy programmes, and community outreach initiatives, particularly in the area of human health and the environment.

Tony lectures at RMIT and Swinburne Universities, holds a PhD in the field of issue and crisis management, and is a Life Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.

Richard Castle

Senior Consultant

Richard is a corporate communications specialist, media spokesperson, trainer/facilitator and radio broadcaster. With over 30 years of industry experience, Richard’s work has spanned across IT, finance, logistics, professional services, manufacturing and distribution and government.

Richard helps organisations, leaders and teams to communicate clearly and effectively to drive change, promote products and services and manage reputations.

His most recent experiences are in change communication and stakeholder management for major digital transformation, organisational change and technology and legislative adoption.


A sharp and strategic communicator, Richard has lectured on media relations to RMIT post-graduate students and has trained Victorian government officials in internal communications for the Public Relations Institute of Australia.

At Pesel & Carr Richard is responsible for the communications and management of various clients. He is also behind Pesel & Carr’s engagement and collaboration of Teams.

Sam Watson

Content Marketing Specialist

Sam has spent ten years working with Public Relations consultancies and in-house communications teams in the UK and Australia.

With a life-long passion for writing, in recent times Sam has focused on copywriting and developing content for clients that span health and medical, IT, education, food, fashion, design, tech, not-for-profit and just about everything else in between.

Sam’s passion lies in creating compelling content that helps build brands – website content, blogs, scripts, speeches, media releases, brochures, annual reports, newsletters and magazines. Sam is adept at developing high quality written content with the right style, tone and messaging to engage the target audience.

William Ryan

Account Executive

Curious and enthusiastic, Will brings a critical eye and creative vigour to the team.

His diverse background includes work in government and market research, consulting and events. He has also spent time in Sweden, helping to devise marketing strategies for startups while on exchange at Lund University.

At Pesel & Carr, Will is responsible for a wide range of content creation, breathing energy and resonance into blog articles, media releases, marketing collateral and social media posts. His sharp ability for critical thinking has also proved him to be a valuable analyst and researcher.

Will has a keen interest in the arts and has enjoyed volunteering with the Melbourne Film Festival.

He completed a Bachelor of Arts (Film Studies, Literary studies) at Monash University before completing a Master of Marketing Communications at Melbourne University.

Rima Zraika

Finance Manager

Rima has more than 20 years’ experience in finance and office and has worked for various clients and industries.

Rima has been with Pesel & Carr since its inception and is an office all-rounder, with her work including staff induction, client administration, supplier liaison, event management and supporting account teams.

Gloria Pham

Gloria is a young gun with a keen eye for social media and digital marketing.

She has managed over 15 social media pages since 2016 for a range of organisations: youth associations, educational forums, not-for-profits, companies, start-ups etc. She is passionate about understanding and leveraging the latest digital trends, e-marketing tools, and social media users’ behaviour and preferences.

Gloria has also established a track record in leadership and student support activities. She is an Ambassador for Study Melbourne, a Victoria government’s initiative for international students, and the winner of Deakin University’s 2020 Students Helping Students Award (Senior category). She founded the first Model United Nations (MUN) conference in her Vietnamese hometown.

Gloria’s experience spans across Vietnam and Australia, giving her an astute understanding of
nuances in cross-cultural communication.

Holly Dowding

Creative & Social Media Consultant

With a creative flair and over a decade of experience in social and design, Holly is adept at crafting strategic, compelling visuals that cut through the clutter.

Holly has designed a wealth of material for artists, musicians, corporates and associations. She takes a tactical approach that ensures all manifestations of a brand, from email signatures and internal collateral, to social media and websites, are on brand, engaging and contribute to the brand narrative.

Her keen eye for visual arts, symbolism and colour psychology gives Holly the background for communication and storytelling.

Prioritising accessibility, Holly ensures her content is available and digestible for a diverse audience. With a finger on the pulse of news and culture, and a knack for creative, witty copy writing, Holly’s visuals are always paired with strong, engaging words, that elevate content to a level that resonates. Her work is driven by an interest in how people experience brands and the capacity brands have to make people feel.

Notably, she originally trained to be a professional ballet dancer at VCASS before her intense passion for visual art prompted her to switch lanes.

At Pesel & Carr, Holly manages visual communication, developing assets to align and support branding and coordinating social media.

Culture Manager

Louis is young and enthusiastic, with a surprisingly good pedigree when it comes to public relations, crisis management and in-office games of fetch. He has recently been promoted to Pesel & Carr’s Culture Manager from his previous role in security.

Boasting almost a year’s worth of experience working alongside our talented team members, including Managing Director Barbara Pesel, Louis was all bark and no bite! He is however, a veteran in office entertainment, client schmoozing, and an excellent consultant in the mechanics of sniffing, staircase racing and staff morale.

Louis is successful in handling the service side of business including, but not limited to, greeting and ushering clients at the door or providing insightful feedback during company meetings – usually in the form of a bark or a cuddle!

Over his time with Pesel & Carr, Louis has become proficient in getting staff members to run errands for him, and he now prides himself in the belief that he secretly runs the office.

Louis is both an office pal and valued asset of our team with his enthusiastic and passionate attitude towards his work.
