Pesel & Carr supports the Boomers’ finals fight!

We can hardly contain our excitement; the Deakin Melbourne Boomers has secured home advantage for the WNBL semi-finals.

In a highly competitive league, the Boomers’ top-two finish is nothing short of heroic.

As strong supporters of empowering women in sport, the Pesel & Carr team has worked with the Boomers on a pro bono basis for three years. The Club’s ambition and leadership inspires us, as much as it does their fans.

“Our agency has a great history of championing women in sport”, said Pesel & Carr Managing Director, Barbara Pesel.

“From women’s golf to Olympic sailors and, in recent years, providing media support for elite Australian ultra-marathon swimmer Chloë McCardel.

“The players are strong, focused elite sportswomen passionate about basketball. They’re dedicated to making the Boomers a successful, family friendly and community-minded team.

“The Club has been on fire this season and we’re all hoping they can go one better than last year and win the Championship.”

The Boomers ended the regular season with 15 wins and just six defeats, one victory behind table-toppers Canberra.

“That was one of our goals at the start of the season – to finish top-two and get a home-court advantage,” said star guard Lindsay Allen, who has taken the league by storm after her arrival from the US at the start of the season.

Game 1 of the Semi-Final Series will be held at the State Basketball Centre on Sunday January 27, 2019 at 5pm.

The window for WNBL semi-final tickets for members opens on Saturday 19th January, with any remaining tickets being made available to the general public on Tuesday 22nd January.
