Open Family delivering healthy meals

Not-for-profit youth outreach organisation Open Family Australia (OFA) will hit the streets of Wyndham, Victoria this week as the NOSH (Nutrition, Outreach, Support and Health) Program kicks off in the area.

The NOSH Program has run successfully in Sydney’s western suburbs for four years and provides healthy meal options, food packs and nutritional information for at-risk and homeless young people.

The NOSH van, sponsored by Goodman Fielder will be set up at various locations in Wyndham on weekdays and serve meals provided by community partners Foodbank Victoria, SecondBite and the Sikh Community of Western Victoria, Inc. and Elders Group. OFA outreach workers will be on hand to engage with young people, offer them a meal and groceries and free nutritional information and refer them to Open Family Australia pathway programs. OFA will be working closely with the Youth Resource Centre located in Hoppers Crossing for ongoing youth support.
