Mozart & Madonna at Melbourne’s White Night

Melbourne will again be lit up on Saturday, February 21 as this year’s ‘White Night’ kicks off, bringing in more than half a million people into the city.

Crowds will flock to see light projections onto Melbourne’s buildings and take part in many free artistic activities on offer throughout the night and into the early hours of Sunday morning.

On White Night, Lyric Opera of Melbourne will present their own interpretation of ‘Vogue’ as part of their latest Opera Bar series performance.

Lyric’s cross-over event combines the provocative style of Madonna with the timeless talent of Mozart to present an experience like no other.

Inspired by these renowned artists, Lyric will perform dressed in elaborate attire and hairstyles to match their out-of-the-box opera concept.

Those heading to the city for White Night are encouraged to stop by Gallery One Three for a 7pm start at 13 Somerset Place, just off Little Bourke Street.

Performances will take place every hour and will continue until midnight.

A door donation is encouraged to help support the free event and drinks and canapés are available at the venue.

Lyric’s last Opera Bar in November 2014, featured Bizet & Beyoncé with Verdi & The Village People lined up for winter.
