Highlights from 2016

Everyone likes to go out on a high note, so here are some of P&C’s highlights for 2016:

After more than a year’s work behind the scenes on internal and external communications preparation and strategy, we were thrilled to see the successful sale of Etihad Stadium – and finally to be able to talk about it publicly!

Other Pesel & Carr client highlights including promoting the Melbourne Boomers’ transition to private ownership, and Lauren Jackson’s appointment as Commercial Operations Executive, which won global media coverage.

It was rewarding to see our work nationally commended in two categories at the 2016 Public Relations Institute of Australia Golden Target Awards – including integrated marketing and communication strategy for our work with a client in the education space.

We’ve also greatly enjoyed hosting some successful face-to-face events this year, including a session with Susan Halliday on the risks and rewards of social media and a book launch for Crisis Proofing by our strategic associate, Tony Jaques.

This year we introduced our latest product, issuesID+. Based on a proven framework and three-hour workshop with our issue and crisis experts Tony Jaques and Sue Driscoll, issuesID+ produces real, actionable insights so you can devote resources to resolving the issues with the greatest potential impact – and prevent them from becoming crises.

Our Managing Director, Barbara Pesel, is set to have an action packed 2017, when she will continue to lead the P&C team while also being the chair of the board of Lort Smith, Australia’s largest not-for-profit organisation caring for animals and their families.

Please note, the office will be closed from December 19 – January 10. For non-urgent matters, we’ll be available via email and for anything urgent please contact Barbara on her mobile.

We’re looking forward to achieving out of the ordinary outcomes again in 2017, and wish you a Happy New Year! As always, please get in touch if there’s anything you’d like to talk through.
