Whitelion is encouraging Twitterers to give a ROAR instead of a Tweet this week to help raise awareness for its important work with at-risk youths.
The campaign ties in with the not-for-profit organisation’s 10th annual AFL Series Luncheon – an important fundraising event which takes place on Thursday, 9th September at 12pm at the MCG.
The first day of the campaign in which Tweeters were asked to substitute their Tweets with a ROAR saw 68 related Tweets and re-Tweets, reaching an estimated 41,761 people! Media outlets including The 7pm Project, Before the Game, Fox Sports and SEN all got involved, along with notable sport media personalities John Ralph, Sam Edmund and Hamish Neal from the Herald Sun.
AFL clubs including Collingwood, Hawthorn, Melbourne and St Kilda also got behind the campaign to spread help the word about Whitelion and support the work of the many young AFL players who have been involved with the organisation as role models over the years.
This campaign demonstrates Whitelion’s forward thinking attitude when it comes to awareness raising and keenness to utilise social media in its communications activities.
