Today kicks off Australian Youth Mentoring week, a celebration of youth mentoring and all its success, potential and opportunity. This week provides us all with a valuable opportunity to:
- celebrate the positive impact of mentoring on young people
- recognise and celebrate the contribution of mentors
- raise the profile and promote the benefits of mentoring
- recruit more mentors
- seek support for mentoring through mentor recruitment and partnerships within communities and including business.
Not-for-profit organisation Whitelion runs a variety of mentoring programs for youth who have been or are at risk of becoming involved in the youth justice and out-of-home care systems.
To find out more about Whitelion’s programs and/or enquire about becoming a mentor, visit Whitelion’s website.
