Celebrating Victoria’s Architecture

It is an exciting time for architecture in Victoria as the Australian Institute of Architects opens entries for the 2015 Victorian Architecture Awards this month and adds a brand new category to the Awards, bringing the total to 13.

The Educational Architecture category was introduced following the success of educational designs in the 2014 Awards, which have previously fallen under the Public Architecture category.

The 2014 winner of the state’s most prestigious award, the Victorian Architecture Medal, was awarded to Dallas Brooks Community Primary School, designed by McBride Charles Ryan, with several other educational institutions and facilities shortlisted and ultimately receiving awards.

Other categories include Sustainable Architecture, Interior Architecture and Urban Design.

Entries for 2015 will remain open until February 20, before the shortlists are announced in early May. The Exhibition of Entries will once again feature the breathtaking designs on display at Federation Square and the winners will be presented on June 26.
