The Australian reported yesterday that Peruvian miner Minsur has developed a list of the world’s top tin resources, including P&C client Stellar Resources and its 50,370 tonne resource near Zeehan in Tasmania.
Robin Bromby reported that the metal is beginning to gain some local market momentum with world demand in 2012 estimated at 362,000 tonnes. Tin’s biggest growth area is in lead-free solder and its use in electronics is rapidly increasing.
Stellar Resources’ Chairman Phil Harman and CEO Peter Blight are attending international mining and resource conference Mines & Money in Hong Kong this week.
