Last night our client Etihad Stadium held yet another fantastic sporting event at the ground, which saw David Beckham and his LA Galaxy teammates take on Melbourne Victory in an exhibition soccer match.
A crowd of almost 35,000 gathered in the stadium as the pitch was transformed into a soccer field and bottom level seating brought out onto the ground.
The match looked like it would end with a 2-2 draw, but a last-minute decision penalty shootout was ordered with LA Galaxy taking the match 4-3.
The event comes in the middle of a big few weeks for Etihad. Last week the stadium hosted the hip hop event of the year, Eminem’s first concert in Australia since 2001.
